Gender Politics after Corbynism

This article examines Corbynism's gender politics, and its relationship with feminism. We note that in the early years of Corbyn period there were starkly opposed positions on dynamics feminist-friendliness project. This, turn, reflected wider factional divisions, often mapping onto different articulations between feminism, race/whiteness, trans rights. then describe how initial prospects for cultivation a more gender-sensitive left politics ultimately undermined by two key developments: first, discursive terrain which feminism increasingly became pitted against Corbynite left; second, defensiveness within project made it resistant to immanent critique. conclude arguing failure pro-Corbyn feminists gain much traction must be contextualised personalisation, instrumentalisation polarisation shape our political culture.
